School Closing Due to Weather Conditions
In the event of severe weather that may close the school, the guidelines issued by the local ISD should be followed.
School closing information will be provided to PTC officers who may be contacted for information. Phone numbers may be found in the student directory.
Parents of students who regularly ride the bus to school will be contacted by the bus driver in the event of a school closing.
School Closing During the School Day
If a condition necessitates closing the school once classes have started, the student’s parent or emergency contact persons will be informed by phone and be requested to pick up the student from school.
Inclement Weather Occurring at Dismissal
If heavy rain or severe weather conditions exist at dismissal time,
- students in grades 2-8 will be dismissed from the gym, and
- students in PK, K, and 1st grades will be dismissed from the ELC building.
It is very helpful if a large sign with the child’s name written in bold letters is placed on the dash of vehicles picking up students.
Students will not be released during severe lightning.
Transporting Students to School in Severe Weather Conditions
If local severe weather conditions exist, never place yourself, your family, or others in danger in attempting to transport a student to school.
